LEX THE GENTLEMAN

About Me

Minister, Author, Inspirational Spoken Word Artist, and Motivational Speaker, Lex The Gentleman at the core is just an ordinary man saved by a gracious God. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he found his “voice” at a young age through acting in church plays.

In 2005, after attending a poetry event while living in the Bronx, New York, Alex asked God, “What would happen if someone took the same passion and zeal that these poets had in their poems and spoke of you?” The Lord responded, “That’s what I want you to do.” With that, Lex then went home and wrote his first inspirational spoken word poem.

Lex received a Master of Arts in Ministry degree from Indiana Wesleyan Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications and Spanish from Ball State University. To date, Lex The Gentleman has performed for thousands of people across the country with a variety of poetry themes ranging from faith, hope, unity, family and love.

In 2022, Lex started his own syndicated featured poetry & open mic show titled, “Spoke & Heard with Lex The Gentleman.” His show livestreams via various apps and reaches over 400 viewers each week.

In January 2024, The Gentleman self-published his first poetry book, “Lost & Found: Poems To Inspire The Fire Within.” Lex’s life goal is to bring inspiration to others through the art of spoken word and to be an extension of God’s unchanging hand.
